The oldest city in South America, recognized by UNESCO, is located at 11000 ft. It contains an invaluable set of natural and cultural resources. Many of which are tourist attractions; Sacsayhuamán, Qoricancha, Qenko, Cathedral among others.

Cusco, located in the basin of the “Huatanay” River, a tributary of the “Urubamba” river. It is the capital of the department of Cusco, in addition, it is declared as the "historical capital" of Peru. With a population of 437,000 inhabitants, it is the seventh most populated in Peru. Formerly it was the capital of the Inca Empire and one of the most important cities of the Viceroyalty of Peru. During the colonial era, under the sovereignty of the Spanish crown, various Baroque and neoclassical churches, universities, palaces and squares were built. These constructions are the attractions that make the city the main tourist destination in the country. It was declared a National Historic Monument in 1972 and a World Heritage Site in 1983 by UNESCO and is often called, due to the large number of monuments it has, the "Rome of America."

Climate

Its climate is generally dry and temperate. It has two defined seasons:

Dry Season

between April and October, with sunny days, cold nights with frosts. The temperature can be between 40° to 58 ° F.

Rainy Season

from November to March, with days of rain, days with sun and temperate nights. The temperature can be between 50° to 70° F.
