A fantastic trip in which, in addition to knowing Machu Picchu, one of the 7 wonders of the Modern World, we will also climb to the top of Wayna Picchu (Huayna Picchu)!.
To carry out the tour in 1 day, the tour starts very early, around 3:30 a.m. We will transfer you in a vehicle from your hotel to the train station in Ollantaytambo (1 hour and 30 minutes approximately), providing you with a personalized service, as we organize the trip with small groups. In Ollantaytambo you will board the train that crosses the Sacred Valley of the Incas, the trip has a duration of approximately 1 hour and 50 minutes. On this route you will enjoy beautiful landscapes until you reach the town of Aguas Calientes.
Once in Aguas Calientes, our guide will wait for you to accompany you to the bus that will transfer you to the Archaeological Sanctuary of Machu Picchu. The bus trip has a duration of approximately 25 minutes. Upon arriving at Machu Picchu, you will undertake a brief adventure toward Huayna Picchu (Wayna Picchu). Ascending this mountain will be an unforgettable experience full of adrenaline. You will reach the top in approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. As you ascend, you will be able to observe the mountains that surround Machu Picchu and the Urubamba River that heads to the mountain jungle. In the final part of the walk, you will find some steps that will take you to the top. This last stretch is the most demanding, due to the very steep slope. Finally, you will reach the highest part of the Huayna Picchu mountain, where you will have enough time to take spectacular photographs. For the return, you will follow the same path (approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes). Great caution is recommended.
Once the descent of the Huayna Picchu mountain is finished, our professional tourism guide will begin the guided tour in the Machu Picchu citadel so that you can know in depth the history and architecture of the citadel. In addition, you can take the classic postcard photo of Machu Picchu. This tour includes the ticket for Circuit 1 or 2 (according to availability). The duration of the tour varies between 2 and 3 hours approximately, according to the assigned circuit.
The tour to Wayna Picchu is one of the most recommended. It is important to take into account that 2 tickets are required: One for Machu Picchu Circuit 1 or for circuit 2 and another for Huayna Picchu (Royalty Circuit 3 or lower part + Huayna Picchu), since the Huayna Picchu mountain is a highly requested destination for reasons of conservation and security, entry is limited to approximately 350 to 400 visitors per day, in addition to only being allowed for those over 12 years old due to the physical demand required and for security reasons.
In the afternoon, the tour will end and you will return to the town of Aguas Calientes to board the return train to Ollantaytambo where our transport service will pick you up at the station and take you to your hotel in Cusco. Itinerary
Cusco - Ollantaytambo - Aguas Calientes
We begin very early (approx. 3:30 a.m.) with a pickup from your hotel to transfer you to the Ollantaytambo station. You will board the train for a scenic journey of nearly 2 hours until you reach the town of Aguas Calientes, where our guide will be waiting for you.
The Challenge: Ascent to Huayna Picchu
We will take the bus up to the sanctuary to begin the great adventure. The ascent to Huayna Picchu mountain takes approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes along steep trails and stone staircases. Once at the summit, you will have time for spectacular photos before descending with caution.
Guided Tour of the Citadel
After conquering the mountain, our professional guide will begin the tour of the Machu Picchu citadel (Circuit 1 or 2). You will learn in depth about the history, architecture, and mysteries of this sacred place, also ensuring your classic postcard photo.
Return to Cusco
In the afternoon, you will return by bus to Aguas Calientes and take the return train to Ollantaytambo. There, our private transportation will pick you up to finally take you back to your hotel in Cusco.
