This 6-day program is the perfect journey for those who wish to experience the cultural and landscape diversity of southern Peru. From the historical elegance of Cusco and the majesty of Machu Picchu to the blue immensity of Lake Titicaca in Puno. The trip includes the famous "Route of the Sun," a scenic journey between Cusco and Puno with stops at colonial temples and archaeological complexes. Itinerary
DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN CUSCO AND CITY TOUR Reception at the Cusco airport and transfer to the hotel. In the afternoon, we will start a City Tour visiting:

DAY 2: SACRED VALLEY – PISAC – OLLANTAYTAMBO – AGUAS CALIENTES Early departure to the Sacred Valley:
In the afternoon, we will board the train to Aguas Calientes to spend the night.
DAY 3: MACHU PICCHU Transfer by bus from Aguas Calientes to the Sanctuary of Machu Picchu. Guided tour of approximately 2 hours, exploring Inca temples, plazas, and terraces, surrounded by a spectacular mountain landscape.
Return by train to Ollantaytambo and transfer to the hotel in Cusco.
DAY 4: SOUTH VALLEY – PUNO Early departure from Cusco toward Puno, with stops at:
Andahuaylillas (baroque church)
Raqchi (Inca temple)
Sicuani (buffet lunch)
Abra La Raya (mountain pass)
Pukara Museum (pre-Inca art)
Arrival in Puno at the end of the afternoon.
DAY 5: LAKE TITICACA – UROS AND TAQUILE ISLANDS Early departure to the port to navigate Lake Titicaca:
Return to Puno in the afternoon and free time to explore the city.
DAY 6: PUNO – JULIACA – LIMA Breakfast at the hotel and transfer to the Juliaca airport for your flight back to Lima.

Recommendations
- Clothing: The weather in Puno is colder than in Cusco. Bring warm clothing (thermal jackets, gloves, beanies) for the nights and for navigation on the lake.
- Sun Protection: Radiation on Lake Titicaca is very high. Use sunscreen, UV protection sunglasses, and a wide-brimmed hat.
- Footwear: Use comfortable or trekking shoes with good grip for the walks in Machu Picchu and Taquile Island.
- Money: Carry cash in soles for purchasing crafts on the Uros and Taquile islands, as there are no ATMs on the islands.
Important
- Altitude: This tour travels through high-altitude areas. Puno is located at 3,827 m / 12,555 ft. It is recommended to drink plenty of water and avoid heavy meals during the first few days.
- Route of the Sun: The trip from Cusco to Puno lasts approximately 10 hours due to the tourist stops. It is a long but very enriching day.
- Luggage on the train: Remember that for the night in Aguas Calientes you can only carry a backpack of up to 5 kg. The rest of your luggage stays in storage in Cusco.
- Documentation: It is essential to present your original Passport or ID to enter Machu Picchu and board the trains.
